Connections announces first private luxury travel event in the Philippines
Press release: March 2023
Connections, the international private community for trusted decision-makers in luxury travel, has announced its first event in the Philippines, with a focus on wellbeing.
Connections Wellbeing Philippines will run in partnership with Tourism Promotions Board Philippines from 16-19 April and will showcase the destination’s finest luxury and wellbeing-focused product to 40 selected global travel buyers.
The event will be supported by leading local brands including The Farm at San Benito, Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort, Intas Destinations, Patis Tito Garden Café, Universal Holidays Incorporated and Annset Holidays.
Connections Wellbeing Philippines will connect luxury buyers with suppliers using the ‘Connections Way’ – a pioneering approach to facilitating long-lasting business relationships through memorable, shared experiences. During targeted, one-to-one meetings, buyers and suppliers will be able to enjoy wellness activities including reflexology, restorative yoga, tea meditation and Qigong, as well as a cellular health screening and detox juice masterclass.
Alongside pre-scheduled meeting appointments, delegates will also take part in an educational session which will focus on the Philippines' groundbreaking role within the wellness industry. The Farm’s medical chief Dr. Marian Alonzo will join clinical herb specialist Rene Rosa Rodrigo and Raya Preventive Clinic’s founder Dr. Raya Quincy to explore how ancient and natural healing methods can be used alongside modern science to offer pioneering methods of treatment.
Global travel buyers in attendance will also have the option to attend one of five post-event familiarisation trips taking place in Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Coron and El Nido.
Maria Margarita “Marga” Nograles, chief operating officer of Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, said: “We are proud to be hosting and participating in the inaugural wellness-themed Connections Luxury in the Philippines. The world stage has already acknowledged the strength of the Philippines as a beach, dive, MICE and leisure destination. Now, we’re making our first strides into the luxury wellbeing arena and are looking forward to welcoming leading luxury travel designers to experience the unique Filipino brand of wellness.”
Greg Reeves, managing director of Connections, added: “The pursuit of personal health and wellbeing is an increasing motivation for luxury travellers, with the sector forecast to grow by over 15% in the next 10 years.
“The Philippines is a destination that is making significant moves into this space. We have received an overwhelmingly positive response to Connections Wellbeing Philippines and are thrilled to be raising awareness of this expansion by bringing the ‘Connections Way’ of doing business to this beautiful country.”
